Reza Najafi, I.R.Iran's Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, held discussions with Fernando Arias, Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), on Tuesday, 27 November 2023, on the sideline of the 28th annual conference of States Parties (CSP) of the Chemical Weapons Convention. The meeting focused on areas to enhance collaboration. Addressing the crimes of the Israeli regime in the Gaza attack, Najafi warned about the regime's use of chemical weapons and called for monitoring and follow-up on relevant developments by the organization. He emphasized the need to strengthen efforts to make the Chemical Weapons Convention more comprehensive, highlighting that the Convention's goal of complete destruction of all chemical weapon stockpiles requires full cooperation.
